We have a Sunday School class for everyone.
Each Class meets between our morning services at 10am.

Grace Space

Grace Space is a mixed-age adult class that seeks to have supportive, fun-loving, and thought-provoking conversation that nurtures faith and connection.

Out of this spirit, a grace-filled space has emerged where we can share our concerns and struggles with one another and respond and journey together with love and grace.

Anyone is welcome any time to the class. We enjoy discussion on scripture study, book studies, and other topics of interest in hopes of growing in our faith and connecting with others in a community that seeks to be authentic, uplifting, and fun.

Becomers is a group of adults from varied backgrounds who gather for supportive, thoughtful, and engaging conversation that nurtures faith and connection. Out of this shared experience, a welcoming community has formed where members walk alongside one another through the realities of everyday life — including work, family, health concerns, and the transitions of retirement — offering encouragement, understanding, and perspective. Anyone is welcome at any time, and the class includes singles, divorced and married individuals, as well as those whose spouses may not attend. Participants span a wide range of ages and life experiences, creating a space where differing viewpoints are respected and authentic conversation is valued.

Discussions are rooted in Scripture and often incorporate book and video-based studies. Past studies have included works such as The Shack, The Ultimate Gift, and Attitude Is Your Paint Brush, along with materials from Christian teachers like Adam Hamilton, Max Lucado, John Ortberg, and Matt Rawle, all with an emphasis on growing in faith through learning, listening, and shared life together.

The SEEKERS

The Seekers Sunday School class is one of the longest-running and most active groups at FUMCA. While the class is made up primarily of retirees, it is not exclusive to any particular age group. With an average attendance of 18 to 22 members each Sunday, The Seekers remains a vibrant and engaged community within the life of our church. Nine members serve as teachers on a rotating basis, offering a variety of voices and perspectives throughout the year. Several times annually, the class also welcomes guest speakers from the Cenla community who represent local charitable organizations such as the Food Bank, Hope House, the Salvation Army, and others.

These visits help connect faith with awareness of and involvement in the needs of our wider community. The class studies a wide range of literature from respected contemporary Christian authors. Many of these studies include video presentations by the authors, creating a format that blends teacher-led commentary, group discussion, and media. During the summer months, members sometimes share book reflections on works that have personally inspired them. The curriculum is intentionally varied and diverse, encouraging thoughtful engagement and continued spiritual growth. Beyond Sunday mornings, The Seekers also value fellowship and service together. Throughout the year the class hosts gatherings such as crawfish boils and Super Bowl parties, and each December members ring bells for the Salvation Army as a shared act of community service.

The Seekers class includes many past and present leaders of FUMCA and continues to play an important role in the life of our congregation. The class looks forward to many more years of study, fellowship, and faithful service together.
