Let The Children Come
In Matthew 19, Jesus tells his disciples, "Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs." Bearing this in mind, our children's ministries offer a variety of activities to give children a spiritual environment where the grace of God is present and where all children can be nurtured and grow in Christ's church.
is a fun and exciting way for children to learn about stories and people in the Bible. Sunday school begins at 9:35 each Sunday morning.
is available for youngsters ages 2 - 5 during the 11:00 worship service. Children begin the worship service in the sanctuary with their parents, and can then choose to attend Children's Church after the children's sermon. Volunteers teach from the Seasons of the Spirit
curriculum. Children learn the Bible story that is included in the lectionary reading for each Sunday, then complete short activities about the lesson before they return to the service during the final hymn.
Jesus, Art and Music is our Wednesday evening program for children in pre-K through the sixth grade. The children learn how to use music, drama, visual arts and writing in the leading of worship. There are two children's choirs: the Cherub Choir is for pre-K through second grade and the Carol Choir is for grades 3 - 6. A handbell choir for younger children is led by Colleen Brooks and Lorraine Staats. Children are divided into these groups between 6:00 and 7:00 on Wednesday nights during the school year.
